​Mauritius, as a signatory to the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, has introduced the
Training and Placement of Persons with Disabilities Programme (TPPWD)
in 2023 to promote the inclusion of persons with disabilities in the workforce, offering placements in both the public and private sectors with a monthly stipend and travel allowance.
The programme allows for placement of Persons with disabilities in the public sector for a period of one year.
a)
Eligibility Criteria
Persons with Disabilities registered with the Training and Employment of Persons with Disabilities Board (TEDPB).
b)
Stipend
Trainees placed under this programme are paid a monthly stipend of Rs 10,000 and transport allowance of Rs 1,000.
Candidates must register with the Training and Employment of Disabled Persons Board (TEDPB) under the Ministry of Social Integration, Social Security and National Solidarity. For more details, visit:
